FAQs
Do you take Insurance?
Yes, I take Blue Cross Blue Shield and Health New England. If you prefer to not use your insurance for any reason, or don’t have that insurance, I do accept self pay.
Do I have to make art if you are my Therapist?
No, I never make anyone do anything, the style of therapy you prefer is your choice. Talk, Art, Telehealth are all options.
Do I need to be an artist to do art therapy?
Not at all, art therapy is about the process of creating, not about the product. With that in mind I am available to help you explore new materials as a part of your creative process. No prior art making skills needed.
Will you give me advice, or tell me what to do/how to live my life?
No! I am not here to tell you how to live your life or to tell you what is best for you. I am here to ask questions to help you connect dots and be a non-judgmental listener. I can teach you coping skills if you are interested in learning them.
As a therapist you have it all figured out, right?
Nope, I have found through years of work the biggest secret is that no one has it figured out including me, we are all imperfect humans trying our best.
Can you prescribe me medication?
I cannot prescribe medication.
How do I begin?
Send me an email or give me a call and leave your best contact number, we will schedule a 15 min phone consultation to chat and be sure what you are struggling with meets what I help people with. We will also talk about what you are looking for in a therapist and discuss scheduling. Our first few sessions are to assess if we are a good match and we will proceed from there.
